A couple of years ago I rented a car and took a vacation in New York City. I drove to the Bronx, to Queens, and way out in Brooklyn. It was a fun week of shooting, despite parking hassles (there aren't any spots downtown during the day.) I took these pictures before I knew anything about postprocessing- curves, contrast, saturation- any of it. I took them with my old Canon G2, which was a little 4mp point and shoot. Despite all that, they turned out pretty good. Looking at them, I'm reminded that learning more about photography doesn't necessarily improve your shooting- sometimes it can actually make you worse.
I really like the last one, in all its boringness.
