Last night I headed down to DUMBO to shoot the lights from the I Am Legend set. That's a Will Smith movie that's been filming here in New York for a few months-- apparently this week they're doing a big invasion scene with a thousand extras. For now, that action is on the Manhattan side, so I figured I'd head over to Brooklyn to avoid the crowds. Walking around in the sub-freezing cold, toting my fifteen pound tripod reminded me of Bluejake missions from back in 2003 and 2004, when I spent a lot of time doing night shoots in the middle of winter. Good times! I think I might have to get back to it.
Unrelated: I was quoted today in a New York Observer piece about Hell's Square-- see the second page, where I refer to drunken NYC bloggers as "lemmings"!
