This is a few blocks below Canal on Greenwich. I'm not sure what the real estate agents are calling this area-- Tribeca North? It's a neighborhood of about six square blocks, sandwiched between the Holland Tunnel and the West Side Highway. In years past, it was mainly garages and parking lots, with a few run-down loft buildings. Today, of course, the streetscape is changing at a lightning pace. The huge empty lot in the back of this picture was filled with buildings until about two weeks ago-- soon, no doubt, another horrible glass tower will rise on the site.
Jake, this is so fabulous. There's a bit of Moscow in this this and a whole lot of New York. It's stunning, one of my all-time faves of yours.
