Eerie. It looks like a natural formation somewhere in the southwest, not a salt pile in Staten Island.

I like this one a lot. I like the fact you have no immediately clear idea of scale. If a person didn't know what it was, they could think it was mountains thousands of feet high rather a pile of salt 10 feet high - especially if they didn't notice the tire tracks. :-)

thanks, guys. i've found that salt piles look particularly good with auto-curves in photoshop-- it really brings out the contrast-- especially if the only thing in the shot is sky and salt (it also works with sand piles).
