Pier One at Brooklyn Bridge Park opened for the first time this week- it's got some beautiful landscaping, and offers a unique view of the Brooklyn Bridge and the downtown skyline. And for the next few weeks, you can also see the hidden face of the National Cold Storage Warehouse, with its balconies and fading paint. It's quickly being knocked down (though some of the wood from inside will be reused as benches around the park)- so see it while you can. [Related: another shot of the same facade I took in August 2009, when the buildings in front were still there.]
Love the National shot! Thanks for the mention.

This gives me quite the sense of history. The men who worked to provide the raw materials, the men who built it, and then the men who used it. Your photos brings those thoughts to my mind. Thanks for those pensive moments.
