One of the most wonderful things about Los Angeles is the easy access to nature. Sure, here in New York we can go out to Fort Tilden or Bear Mountain, but it takes an hour and it's not the kind of thing you end up doing more than once or twice a year. But in Los Angeles, the mountains are right there- just ten or fifteen minutes from where you live, and there are literally hundreds of different hikes to take. Lately I've been going with my friend Zach, who's a passionate hiker. This trip we didn't have much time to spare, so we just went for a short hike in Griffith Park. At the top there was a great view of downtown and the Valley.

stunning shots...bring back memories of going to the Griffith Park Observatory with my Papaw when I was little...

A week in cloudy LA. How did you like the light out here this week?
Very different from the usual broad/flat/bright/warm Western light, probably more familiar to shooting in NY.

I love New York, but this is one of the things I miss most about living in Los Angeles...the many quick little nature walks around town. Georgous pictures!
