June 20, 2002: Day 20 / London

9am Woke rested after 8 hours of sleep.
10am Walked to Holborn and took tube back to Pimlico for the towering and truly impressive Lucian Freud show at the Tate Britain. It's hard to believe that one artist could keep up that kind of quality for sixty years. He has. A great survey and a great number of his best works.
12pm Tube to Notting Hill Gate and walk down Portobello Road. Very nice at the top and seedy at the bottom. Beautiful pastel buildings and pretty shops.
1pm Walked across Kensington Gardens and saw the Round Pond. Crossed the Serpentine and Hyde Park and caught the train at Marble Hill after another good lunch at the Pret. Tube to Tottenham Court Road and checked internet before going back to hotel. Slight fight over a stupid remark I made at the local deli.
6pm Walked to Covent Gardens and drank beer at a new pub. Walked back to Belgo for Moules and good chicken. After, walked back to the hotel and began to pack.

For next time in London: Science Museum, Natural History Museum, National Portrait Gallery, Jack the Ripper tour, Chelsea.
