August 2, 2002: Strange Relations
I read in the New Yorker today that Richard Serra (the famous sculptor) is the younger brother of Tony Serra, the famous lawyer who was played by James Wood's in True Believer. I think that connections like this reveal something about the nature of the universe. Anyone else have one?

Palme d'Or winning director Nanni Moretti (The Son's Room) and our favorite Jean Reno look-alike as well as discerning and thoughtful scholar Franco Moretti?
Oh, another weird one, but not as good as Serra or Moretti:
Rick Yorn, agent/manager/whatever to the stars (DiCap, Cameron Diaz) and former partner of Mike Ovitz in the dream that was Artists Management Group, and Pete Yorn, pretty boy musician whose debut album Musicforthemorningafter,, is often priced to sell, at $7.99 at Tower and Virgin.
Hm. Well, more prosaically, I love the fact that the soundtrack to About a Boy was created by Badly Drawn Boy. Who thoughta dat?
And that Marcus, the kid in About a Boy, dresses like Badly Drawn Boy for most of the movie.
Hi Jake;
Love your site. Was reading a comment about rick yorn, scorsese's manager. long story short: about 10 years ago, my art dealer sent scorsese a poster-size cibachrome print of the protest at the ziegfield over last temptation of christ (shot the photo on spec as a freelancer for the Daily News; also shot for time, newsweek, new york times sunday magazine). his two-word response as he called back: "How much?" bottom line: my dealer asked for too much. Would like to talk to scorsese or his manager again about scorsese acquiring it, but without the overzealous dealer involved. Questions: what do you recommend? and do you have a contact for Mr. scorsese, yorn, or the right person for this mission? Your response would be greatly appreciated! Wish you continuing success with you site! Ciao; Mary yes18325@aol.com 212.580.2717
