Bluejake

We got back from Los Angeles this morning. It was a good trip- lots of driving and thinking about the future. We did some Los Angeles activities- driving up and down Sunset Boulevard, taking sidetrips up into the Hollywood Hills, driving down Mulholland and through the canyons. There was a lot of great food- we ate at Pane e Vino and at Madeo and got great sushi at Tengu in Westwood. We also went for drinks at some new places- the Peninsula Hotel, The Four Seasons, El Carmen, and best of all, at the new downtown Standard. Strangely, we had only one star sighting- Tobey Maguire, in front of the Coffee Bean at Sunset Plaza in Hollywood.

Added 8/29: Actually, I need to correct myself- we actually saw two stars. I realized it while we were watching the end of the MTV Video Music Awards on TiVo tonight, and they were playing that Enrique Iglesias video. It turns out that while we were at Madeo, we saw Mickey Rourke sitting at the next table with his crew. He looked buff and scary.
