October 24, 2002: Site Map
I've been thinking about simplifying Bluejake for a few weeks. The architecture of the site has become a little complex for what is really just a small personal site. To begin the rearchitecture process, I've prepared a sitemap (180kb). As you can see, I designed the current version of Bluejake with a two tier architecture in mind. The first tier (accessed via the main navigation at the top right of each page) contains the about, links, and contact pages, as well as the photo section. The second tier (accessed via the sub-nav on the right of the main page) contains the blog archives and links to substituent blogs like Ephemera and SkateBlog. I consider the Google Search return to constitute a separate content area, so I've grouped it on the top line with the main page. Does anyone see a way to simplify this mess?

I will think about this and respond soon.
I'm really interested in a way to combine and simplify the blog content. In terms of UI, i'd like a way to better feature the other blogs on the front page. Right now, they are linked below the fold.
Where do you fold a webpage?
