November 8, 2002: Times Square
I've been working on Madison Avenue in Midtown, and today after work I decided to walk down to the International Center of Photography to check out the Garry Winograd show. Afterwards, I walked to the 8th Avenue local train by way of Times Square.

I like Times Square, but I don't really like being there, walking the streets...I love the cacophony of lights and advertising and even people clambering but since I ultimately hate people, it's hard to stomach it. Even though it's a flawed film, the part in Vanilla Sky where Tom Cruise is in the empty streets is pretty cool, but it also reminds me of how it looked on September 12, 2001.
