November 25, 2002: Postmodern Spam
I believe I am the first person to comment on a new and strangely circular kind of spam that has been filling my mailbox of late: spam spam. That is, spam that contains an offer for spam mailing services. The offer below is a classic example, and I believe it fits many aspects of this definition of postmodernism I found this morning on Google: "Postmodern art (and thought) favors reflexivity and self-consciousness, fragmentation and discontinuity (especially in narrative structures), ambiguity, simultaneity, and an emphasis on the destructured, decentered, dehumanized subject."
