Jake Dobkin types 85wpm In this technology-driven culture of ours, I believe touch typing is the single most important skill an employee can have in the workplace. Beyond the basics like tying his shoes and such. According to this helpful test from the strangely well-named TypingTest.com, I type at a breezy 85 words per minute. All while making sure I didn't seem suspicious at work, pounding on the keyboard so crazily.

Speaking of typing, what makes me crazy (one of many things, I assure you) is that when I watch movies where the young lead, usually playing a professional who would find touch typing would be important, someone who grew up with computer, types, the actors are hunting and pecking. It's thoroughly unconvincing. I mean, they make these actors train for a variety of things for authenticity, why not some office skills?
