March 16, 2003: The Battery at sunset
I just got a circular polarizing filter for my G2, so I decided to go down and take some pictures of the water to see if it would remove any of the glare. I got a late start and by the time I started shooting, the sun was already going down. I got some amazing sunset footage- there's nothing like watching the light fade over Jersey on the first warm day of the Spring. More pictures are available.

The pictures are really nice, but some of them look a little too disturbingly much like the bridges/lower Manhattan engulfed in flames.
yeah- i definitely had that impression too, when i was taking them- it was a weird 15 minutes under the bridge with the sky on fire like that. The strangest thing is that I didn't even have to do much in photoshop- just darkened them a little and raised the contrast and saturation by 10%. maybe it's all the pollution.
