June 6, 2003: Emptiness

I was early for a meeting around Union Square, so I wandered around for a few minutes. Walking down 17th Street, I happened to look down into the windows of Zurich, the financial firm currently occupying the old MarchFirst building. They had cut the old foosball and pool area into these depressing conference rooms- looking at those empty rooms you really get a sense of what has changed since 1999.

Did Zurich buy the Aeron chairs from MarchFirst too?

I dunno - I found the marchFIRST (heh) space a lot more depressing than that. Always seemed to me best to keep your lounging employees safely out of sight of passers by.
