June 26, 2003: Around the Navy Yard
The last ten weekends in New York were like a rehearsal for life after the ice-caps melt... water, water everywhere. This has made a lot of things difficult- but skating most of all. So this was the first time I strapped on my K2s in five weeks. From pouring rain to sweltering heat: by the time I got up on the Manhattan Bridge, I was sweating buckets. Most unpleasant. I decided that a long skate was out of the question, so I settled on my new favorite route: down to the Navy Yard, around on Flushing Avenue, and then back on the Williamsburg Bridge. I had a camera and took some pictures- maybe I'll post them tomorrow.
