Bluejake

After a stop in Santa Barbara, I headed straight up route 1. It was 5pm when I rolled into the parking lot at the Madonna Inn in San Luis Obispo. The question was whether I'd be able to make it to Monterey before the darkness made driving up the winding cliff roads too dangerous. I bet on yes- and pointed the car north at top speed. An hour and a half later I reckoned that I was halfway to Big Sur- nerves jangling from hairpin turns and oncoming traffic and the cliffs. I stopped at this scenic overlook to collect my thoughts before ploughing onward.
