I went up to Midtown for a meeting tonight, and the conference room where it was being held had the most amazing view of the east side. If you look closely, you can actually see all the way to the river.

That makes me want to work in the city once I'm done with school. Until then, I'll be at Rutgers for 2 more years. Sighs.

what kind of camera did you use to take these photos?
i hope you don't mind my asking. your photos are beautiful and i realize it's less about the camera and more the photographer (you), but i am camera shopping so i had to ask. thank you

i shoot on a canon g2- but i'd recommend going with a g3 or g5, as those are the newer models. get circular polarizing filter and a UV filter while you are at it.

Ah, that's a great point... having a polarizer will do a ton for any outdoor shot, but especially help digital cameras where you want to maximize the tonal range.

Another nice feature I've noticed on the G3/G5: the ready availability of add-on wideangle lenses. Telephoto is generally unecessary and makes for poor photos, but sometimes if there isn't enough room, a wide angle will save you.
