October 7, 2003: Silver Towers

I've always thought the Silver Towers buildings on Houston Street were a bit of a monstrosity- built in 1966 for NYU, I can only imagine the historic blocks that were demolished for them to be built. Still, if you catch the towers from the right angle, at precisely the right time of day in the early Autumn, they appear lit up like candles.

Still ugly.
yeah, I've always hated them. Even at best, they are ugly candles. Can I blow them out? btw, worst Picasso sculture ever is in their courtyard.
i love the towers and the apartments are wonderful. i.m. pei did a wonderful job.
I live there... They're better in person then most photoes... and at least we get a good view.
