October 10, 2003: Radiohead

A heartfelt thank-you to Meg and the Artfutura conference organizers who invited her to lecture in Barcelona this week. Due to her absence, I got to go see Radiohead at Madison Square Garden last night with Jason. We literally had the best seats in the house- dead center on the floor, in the first row behind the general admission area. The show was top-notch, all the way from the opening band, Low, who played earnestly to the fairly uninterested crowd, through the entire Radiohead set, and on into their two encores. As a sucker for their older music, I thought Radiohead's best performances were given on "Green Plastic Trees" "Fake Plastic Trees" and "Karma Police", but pretty much every song was good. The audience was going wild, and Tom York Thom Yorke seemed to be enjoying it all, bouncing around the stage and screaming "Helllllllo Neeeeew Yooooork!" every few minutes. Bravo!

Awesome, I'm going to see Radiohead in Toronto on the 15th. I can't wait. Did they play any rare stuff at your show?
Tom York is spelled Thom Yorke.
Cool pics.. I love the whole 'No Flash.. who cares if it's blurred thing', although I should mention that it's 'Fake Plastic Trees' not 'Green' which sorta devalues the whole point of the song really, if you're listening to the lyrics.
I wouldn't have pulled you up about the spelling of Thom Yorke's name though.
Anal Dork is spelled Ahnal Dorke
Green Plastic Trees? What the Jebus were you smoking? Glad you enjoyed it though ;)
Nice silhouettes of those heads.... seriously, it's a pity you weren't right up close but those colours are awesome. I've seen Radiohead six times - up for a seventh and eighth in November in London. Can't wait, especially if Yorke seems as happy as he does in those pics.
Since when did Clay Aihtken tour with Radiohead? And when did he learn how to play the guitar?
oh my god, i missed low?
i had no idea they were opening...
now clarify this... they just kept playing and playing on and on even after radiohead took the stage? someone explain please....
I took some photos of Radiohead when they visited Vancouver, Canada. Didn't get as close though. Looks like they used similar lighting effects.
i found this through looking for reviews of the oct 10 msg show...I went to it, it was amazing. i love your pictures, and you just reminded me to get my photos developed. :)
