December 10, 2003: Central Park in Winter

[From Saturday] Is there anything more beautiful than Central Park after a huge snowstorm? All the colors vanish and the park becomes this huge white mass. Wandering down from 86th Street, we passed through the reservoir, the Great Lawn, Belvedere Castle, the Ramble, and the Mall before exiting at the southeast corner of the Park. My favorite scene? Probably the ducks huddled together at the side of the lake near the Bow Bridge- you don't see something like that every day. [More pictures in the Gallery section]

Nice photos. Looks like you were out on saturday, which helped with the crowds, but wasn't as sunny as Sunday.
Umm, your clock needs a reset, unless you often claim you can take pictures of the future. :)
Good Day!
I simply adore your pictures. Thanks for sharing!
Very beautiful winter scenes in Central Park. The colors are so subtle and restful to my eye. It is much easier to see the gradations of whites and greys in the larger photos. Thanks for showing them in your gallery. So many interesting shots in this series, too many good ones to comment. Many remind me remind me of Impressionist watercolors and paintings.
I wanted to say I also found your West Village to be a lush, rich feast of delicious light and shadow and color. The contrast of the two series is really quite dramatic.
Either way, I have enjoyed them both. Thanks for the tour. I hope you and yours had a nice warm homecoming after the excursion into the blizzard. Ah, what are blizzards for ;-)

PS...Hope you don't mind that I added a link of this entry to my latest post LJ. I simply loved your pics and had to share with friends.
Thanks!
