December 16, 2003: Thompson at 6 months

My cat, Thompson, just turned six months old. We thought of making him a cake, but given his precocious ability to get ill, we decided that it could be a bad idea. Instead, he's been getting extra love all week. And for Hannukah, Thompson is going to receive 8 wonderful nights of presents- mice, mice, and more mice. This post makes me seem totally lame!

This is so LiveJournal. This is too much personal information. You're fired.
What kind of cat is Thompson, in addition to being a Jewish cat?
thompson doesn't look too happy with you in that last picture.
thompson is a jewish persian cat- his family was forced to flee iran after the fall of the shah in 1979. previously wealthy, they were forced to leave much of their assets behind, and survived in their new country based mostly on their looks.
Yeah, lame, but then I'm an LJ person so I like it and Thompson is quite the feline. HB, T!
don't you have 2? where's the other one?
the other cat lives in park slope with my parents. unfortunately, due to thompson's recent bout with ringworm, they haven't seen each other in a couple of months.
based on the success of this post in attracting comments, i'd like to replace the suggestions we offered last week on gothamist with the following:
1. Website? Weblog! Blog blog blog blog blog.
2. Post about yourself and your cute pets as much as possible- apparently photos of buildings don't do it for people.
Etc.
Buildings are boring....bring more kitty pictures!!!!!!!! Thompson is a STAR!
kittens kittens kittens! jake, this is the cutest cat ever and we don't care if all you post is pictures of him.
Seriously, is kitty Thompson's left eye OK? In two of the pictures I notice that the left one seems narrower than the other yet in the other pictures it seems fine. Sometimes it is good to see what lives inside the builings...without of course, invading anyones privacy. I hope Thompson has fully recovered from his worm attack..so young and on the computer already!
I love the kitty pictures. May I suggest taking the kitty out with you on one of your late night photo excursions. I'm not thinking kitty as centerpiece, but something along the lines of where's waldo. The photos are normally sepctacular, but a little bit of kitty always helps.
no worries about thompson's eye- we had that checked out- apparently it was half closed for a week because he had an upper respiratory infection- he's now back to his usual bright eyed self!
Are you sure someone has not replaced your cat with a small stuffed animal? He's very handsome. My two cats from the pound and one cat from the street seem so Canal Street knock-off now.
I'm not usually drawn to cats of the smashed-in face variety, but this one is a darling, because he does not seem to be a snob.
Hey. While your building posts elicit less comments, I still find them amazing. Makes me miss New York and appreciate it more when I'm back in town. Your water-tower series was awesome too.
i think a healthy blend of both works fine. i see nothing wrong with doting on your feline every now and then. it helps define a piece of who you are. blah on blog rules. bring on the cat pictures.
does thompson ever look excited? in your photos he looks like an excellent candidate for feline anti-depressants.
