January 25, 2004: Chinatown Parade

I've said it before, I'll say it again, and I said it to the woman who interviewed me for Chinese National Television: "I love Chinatown, and I love the Chinese!" I also love Jen, because she got us into a very crowded Dim Sum Go Go for brunch, and I love the NYPD, who believed I was a member of the press and let me wander straight up the parade path. So there is lots of love today. [More pictures are available in the gallery section, and Jen caught a picture of me at work.]
The Chinese love you, too, and by Chinese, I mean me and the restaurants grateful for your sparerib and pork bun addictions.
And thanks also goes out to Sharon for graciously letting you and your parents join her party at Dim Sum Go Go.
ooh, i love the spareribs too. unless you mean the ones with the bbq flavor. i mean, the kind at traditional dim sim.
damn you for you and your walking in the street! mr. fancy camera!
i'd also like to introduce a new term: "blogger swarm: when a dozen or so bloggers all materialize independently at the same event." blogger swarm will be the environmental issue of the next 10 years.
clearly, it's your animal magnetism which drew everyone to the parade jake.
oh, and those asian hotties in the gallery, clearly respond to calls of "you're so beautiful!!" in english.
bad side effect of blogger swarm: four of us make identical posts. mine isnt up yet but will be soon. also, we walked up the parade route too.. and didnt even pretend to be press!
the problem with the blogger swarm is it only confirms my inferiority complex when it comes to photos :) that and makes me jealous that other people were obviously much closer to the action.

darn...your pictures are making me regret not having gone to the Chinese celebration last week in Sunset Park...

Those pics are so crisp and clean. Again, what camera do you use?
