There is something fundamentally raw and unstable about New York City- everywhere you look, construction crews seem to be tearing up the streets. I'm fascinated by the things that lurk below the streets- the wiring and pipes and gas lines. I think to truly love New York, you have to love the stuff that lies underneath. Unless there are mole people down there, of course.

There are Mole People down there! All those construction crews are really from the plain clothes division of Homeland Security.
