February 5, 2004: Will Ryman Scene

The lovely KDunk invited me out to the opening of Will Ryman's new show at Studio Space on the Bowery. She said I would enjoy Ryman's art, and I did. His pieces were great- fun, emotive, well-executed, odd. Like a cross between Giacometti and Basquiat, or Giacometti and E.T. Beyond the pieces, I enjoyed the atmosphere- it reminded me that a vibrant arts scene still exists below Houston Street. And bajesus- did anyone else see the ladies with Lockhart Steele? They were fiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiine.

i'm saying giacometti meets gumby.
but, yeah, they look fun in a vaguely creepy way.
I like their shoes. The ET Gumby Giacomettis, that is.
is the female in the 4th picture, um...gratifying herself?
i surprised no one noticed the one and only molly ringwald in the last picture! molly ringwald! the breakfast club, people!
Did you hear? Apparently she flipped her shit and started knocking stuff over just after we left. No shit.
