K and I never go out on Valentine's Day- we're just not organized enough to make the reservations. Instead, we usually cook- so today it was up to me to buy the ingredients. I tried to get everything on Bleecker Street- the steaks from Ottomanelli's, the cupcakes from Rocco's, the bread from Zito's, the mouse laser pointer from Beastie Feast (Thompson's Valentine's Day present). We had some champagne in the house, so the only thing I couldn't find on Bleecker was the cheese, because Murray's Cheese Shop was totally overcrowded. Instead, I went to my trusty backup, Joe's Dairy on Sullivan Street. Their selection is a little smaller, but the service is great, and the price was right. And of course, the flowers were purchased on our corner at H&H Kim's. Hope everyone had a great Valentine's Day weekend!

it was so sweet to see that you didn't forget thompson. you'll make a great papa someday. happy vday.

there's something with cats that they can smell a milk-based product from a mile away, like how sharks with blood. my cat's the same way. :-)

My Valentine's suggestion was for Jake to put angel/Cupid wings on Thompson. But Jake wouldn't bite.

We got steaks from Ottomanelli's too! And some foie gras, which Meg said turned out great (I was not a big fan).

may i suggest a great champagne, Moet Nectar Imperial. Sweeter than most champagnes. Not too pricey either.
