March 21, 2004: Law & Order 2
Other great things about our visit to the set of Law & Order: the backdrop curtain (special ordered to show the skyline of Manhattan through the windows of the DA's office), the craft service table (lots of cookies, but also energy bars and things like that), the multipurpose sets (for instance, the forensic lab can also double as a hospital, and the DA's office can be a judge's chambers), the extras waiting room (apparently they prefer to be called "background actors") and the ribald limericks scrawled by Jesse L. Martin on the pad at his detective's desk. I'm still smiling now, more than 24 hours later- what a great visit. Now if we can only get back on the set to meet Sam Waterston!
