Thompson didn't come to California with us- instead, he stayed at the apartment and we had friends visit for cat-company sessions. That was alright, because our friends would call me on my cell and put Thompson on so he could hear our voices. When we got back, Thompson and I bonded by experimenting with manual flash exposures. Interesting fact: it turns out that cats aren't wild about being hit with a strobe light at close range. Anyway, over the summer Thompson is going to be living in Los Angeles with K while she gets the wedding ready- it would just be too much to be away from him for a month.

The flash is great. I feel there's more definition to Thompson's face and being. Picture #7, he looks like an owl. A little.

And I'm glad that I was able to spend some time with Thompson while you and K were away. I just wasn't that pleased about the uncovered poop.

special feature- these are all of thompson's nicknames: tom, tommy, boops, boopsie, poopsie, sir boopsalot, sir poopsalot, boopmaster, lovebug, kitty. there are probably some more. a sad side effect is that he doesn't come when you call his name, because we aren't consistent.

Jake, I don't think a lot of living things are too wild about being hit with a strobe light at close range, but then who cares, good lighting trumps all.

yep- to test out keith's theory, i got out the flash in the middle of the night and set it off next to the bed. turns out karen didn't like it either. next flash test: inside the polar bear exhibit at the brooklyn zoo. wish me luck!

He looks like he's crying!

That's what I like to hear Jake, risking relationships and personal well being all in the name of getting the perfect picture.

You may want to use a defuser on the flash with them polar bears, you know those white furs and white surroundings bounces a lot of light, and you sure don't want to be losing those fury details during those inevitable close ups when the bear charges you. Good luck!

If you don't make it, can I have your tilt/shift lens? :)

Thompson looks very ethereal.
hes a little black fluffy angel.

Will Thompson be your ring bearer at the wedding?

Thompson looks a lot healthier. It's nice to see him looking so well :) You two must love him an awful lot.

Jake, I think Thompson needs a petting party. Invite all the bloggers who love him and we all get to pet him. I know it will totally freak him out, but your faithful readers (me especially) really, really want to pet the little boopster.

I see that Thompson likes the New Yorker Spring Humour issue as well.

Though he doesn't looked very humored!
