Aeolian Ride

Mike tipped me off to the Aeolian Ride, a rolling art project with 50 people in wind inflated suits riding down the west side to Brooklyn. I intercepted the group somewhere around 23rd Street, and paced them down to Canal, snapping pictures as I rode. The suits looked beautiful against the cloudy sky- and the looks on the faces of people going in the opposite direction were priceless. I wish everything was inflatable.

You should have seen us on the bridge...priceless. And when we got to Fulton Ferry and spun in circles around the wedding-party-photo-infested dock area... truly a thing of beauty.

Unless it was an evil scheme concocted by Grimaldi's and the Brooklyn Ice Cream Factory.

good job on the villagevoice thing. :)

nice images jake -- i like the chicago stuff :-)

heh heh, i like the 2nd and 3rd shots best... you can't not enjoy those getups!

Thanks so much for sharing. I love it! Makes me mean to check your website more often!

I almost participated in the ride until I read the disclaimer saying that my image may be used in advertising. The waiver pretty much gave the organizer(s) rights to use images from the ride for anything. The website made the ride sound like critical mass but the pictures show riders on the west side highway bike path. I am glad I skipped out.
