June 19, 2004: Redecorate Our Apartment [Click]
As a general rule, Bluejake is a photoblog- but it is also a personal site. I try not to bore you guys with endless tales of going to the grocery store or the latest internet beefs I've stumbled into, but I hope you'll forgive me every so often if I do a post like this one. You see, I've just gotten a copy of Visio 2003 for work, and drafting nerd that I am, I decided to create a to-scale fake architectural drawing of my apartment. I'm also including the Visio file, for those of my super Visio freak friends who want to take a shot at rearranging the space according to Feng Shui or some other architectural philosophy. Some highlights of the apartment:
1. The circle at the far end of the kitchen is Thompson's Boodadome kitty litter center- it's like living in the future, man.
2. The desk in the living room now has an Aeron chair- I got it on eBay- only a few scratches and a very good price.
3. The real estate people say the apartment is 650sqft- but as you can see, the actual living space is probably closer to 450sqft.
4. For a place with relatively few windows (and windows facing an airshaft and tha back of another building), you'd be surprised at how much light we get. It's blazing most mornings.

I'm just imagining the Queer Eye guys running through your apartment and throwing cat litter out the window...
you know, i'm not really sure what you can change. you might have the best layout given your situation.
yeah- i sort of feel the same way- it's got an air of completeness to it. i would like to get rid of some bookcases and such- but storage is so expensive.
