June 20, 2004: Roosevelt Island 1
As a Brooklyn kid, Roosevelt Island has always seemed pretty distant and mysterious- it's really more a part of Queens than anything else. Today Sam and I took the F Train to the island and walked south- down to the old and abandoned Renwick Smallpox Hospital. We didn't have time to visit some of the buildings on the north end of the island- but I've heard that the Octogon House and the Renwick Lighthouse are both very cool. [Unrelated: these are the eleven pictures I'm considering for the next pin-up show: 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 10 11- which three would you pick?]

BTW: On my "free day off" (ie: the national day of mourning) last week, I skated over to Roosevelt Island and the same park, though it was a lot less crowded. I headed from there up to Socrates sculpture garden in Queens. I haven't even had a chance to look at my photos, but yours are really good. I'll eventually catch up on my editing and then we can compare :)
#9 should definitely be in there, #4, and #1. =D

3 is beautiful, but 4 is more representative of what you do so well.
7 or 11 -- 11's got terrific lighting and mood.
But I'd vote for the wonderful shot on this page http://www.bluejake.com/archives/2004/06/04/prospect_park_1.php at slot number 7 -- prospect park lake at sunset with the jet contrail beautifully curving above the trees.
Purely subjective, 'cause you can't go wrong with any of them, but 2, 4, and 8 kind of speak to me. 2's very funny, 4 set the time and place beautifully, and 8 tells a story. Good luck. TN :>)
I'd say 1,2, and 7. The first two are by far my favorites and 7 was a hard choice from the others remaining. Good work!
1,3,4,all grab me...consider 5,7 and 10 as an alternate set.
#2 is hilarious! the colors in #9 and #8 are eerie and amazing.
#3,7,8 - ask and ye shall receive. those happen to be my favorites.
