June 22, 2004: Cloudy Skies above Central Park

I went to see the Weegee show at Ubu Gallery last week- he had a couple of striking pictures taken at Coney Island beach in the 1940s and 50s- people sandwiched together as far as the eye could see. Compared to that, the crowd at the Sheep's Meadow in Central Park on Saturday was positively thin. Still- there are few better places in Manhattan for concentrated people watching. The sudden clouds that appeared above the meadow added a nice gothic touch to the pictures. [Related: Rion was also in the Sheep's Meadow on Saturday. Unrelated: what's the maximum amount of money you think I should charge for 16x20" prints of the pictures at the Pinup Show?]

archival inks/paper?
limited edition?
right- imagine they were printed on the best paper i could find, with the best printing process available to me. the range we can charge at the show is $100-600, with these prints being on the larger end of the spectrum in terms of print size. i'm not in the show for the money- but part of the sales go to charity, so i want to charge a fair price. i'm trying to sell out 3 copies of each print, so i want to price them right.
Get em printed at Mpix.com. Cheap prices. Cool paper. All archival for like 100 years.
i actually did order some stuff from mpix.com to check the quality- i'll let you know how it comes out!
