July 24, 2004: Williamsburg 3

Williamsburg feels limitless to me- receding off to the east towards Queens and parts unknown. For the purposes of this project, I drew the line at the BQE, which separates Williamsburg from who-knows-what. Similarly, I set an arbitrary southern boundary at Broadway, and a northern boundary at Manhattan Avenue. Eventually, I know my work will take me to Bushwick and East New York, Greenpoint and Crown Heights, but not yet.

ok- i cheated a little- the fourth picture from the bottom is in greenpoint- actually on greenpoint avenue near the greenpoint avenue bridge. did i say greenpoint enough in this comment?
i would argue that newtown creek is greenpoint too (those tanks in the picture) and my company is working on those.
but if you're in greenpoint again, i'll go with you.
Actually, if you ask a person FROM Greenpoint they'd most likely tell you that ALL of these are Greenpoint- several people that i've ever encountered (with more than ten years under their North Bk belt) have told me that all of the "Northside" streets have historically been considered GP. But then again, what do I know? I'm from the south.
Terrific pics, nevertheless- as always!
