July 25, 2004: Williamsburg 4









In the end, I suppose I hate Williamsburg most because that's where They Might Be Giants defected, after they lived on 3rd Street in Park Slope. Back in the late 1980s, that was like losing the Dodgers- and having them put Downers Pharmacy (instead of Neerguards, for instance) on the cover of one of their albums just rubbed salt in the wound. So no matter how much I might like Williamsburg today, there are some grievances that just don't heal.
