August 12, 2004: MacArthur Park

Being a photoblogger in LA is a lot harder than being a photoblogger in New York. Why? Well, for one, everyone drives to work, so unless you happen to live in a visually stimulating area, or work in one, you aren't likely to get much to shoot without parking, getting out of the car, shooting, getting back in, etc. It's not that I stumble over so many great pictures downtown, but I feel like it's less of a hassle to find good stuff in New York. On this trip, I have discovered some spots I liked: MacArthur Park and Echo Park out towards downtown, Griffith Park and the Bronson Caves, Point Dume Beach in Malibu. I'll put up some of these shots over the next couple of days before the wedding- and the rest when I get back from Hawaii. For a less-mediated, always-up-to-date visual account of my activities, check out my BlueMobLog. [Unrelated: if you have any wedding-related advice to offer me, now is the time to give it, as I've got a scant 48 hours left before I walk down the aisle.]

wedding advice...when you are asked "do you..." you say "yes". from what i've seen, that's how it goes.
congrats man.
Things will go wrong - and guess what no one will know. Just got married almost a month ago.. enjoy it - stop every 30 minutes look around and pretend you are taking a picture but a mental picture... I have 5000 images from my wedding but the best ones are the ones in my head.
Remember its not your day its her - guys are like a piece of furniture on that day - you need a couch to sit down on and we are that couch but no one pays us any attention.
Enjoy!!!
Matt
just relax and know that saturday is just one day and you have the rest of your lives to focus on. a lot of people make such a big deal about the wedding day that they lose sight of what is really important - the marriage. getting married (and working hard to STAY married) is the hardest (but BEST) thing i've ever done. best of luck to you both and congratulations.
don't trip! have fun! yay! congrats
Planning a wedding is hell on earth, getting married and being married.... beautiful. My Best!
Good luck today! Congratulations!!!!
You were right outside my place! I love it when they have the ghetto carnival on Wilshire. Glad you liked Westlake (this neighborhood).
