October 6, 2004: DUMBO 5

My DUMBO shooting technique is unstoppable. I've been going down there after class a couple of times each week. I usually bike down, but today my tires were low on air (I don't have a bike pump yet), so I skated. Cobblestones are the eternal enemy of the skater, so DUMBO is always a challenge. As on past missions, I shot with the G5 and left all the other equipment behind. I've largely finished shooting the area north of the Manhattan Bridge, so today I focused mostly on the area between the bridges. [Unrelated: I've hacked the most recent picture from the moblog on to the upper left of the Bluejake front page. If it's displaying full size, you need to reload the site's stylesheet. Question: given that each moblog preview image is 35k (long story), do you think it's worth it to show more than one?]

Great DUMBO series and this last post is smokin. You might want to check out the Brooklyn Navy Yard.
scaling in the browser for me is more annoying then a rabid deer. i think one is appropriate although something like the slower widget might be fun if the picture could be shrunk server side.
yeah- i've tried to figure out a way to do it server side, but Flickr only gives a 100px thumbnail (that's too small), and typepad doesn't auto-create thumbnails on upload- so i'm not sure what i can do.
