I can't think of anything new to say about DUMBO right now. [Unrelated: I spent the day experimenting with Flickr- it's an interesting photo-sharing online network. I'm interested in it mainly for it's moblog possibilities- it seems to have the potential of adding some functionality that Typepad doesn't offer- including automatically tagging cameraphone images, auto-generating thumbnails, etc. For now, I'm going to continue to play with both services- and in a couple of months I'll decide which one I prefer.]

Jake,
I also am trying out Flickr and its pretty cool. There is less work on the coding and easier on posting and adjusting.

yeah- it's a pretty dope service. i wish it was a little more flexible on things like thumbnail size (you should be able to set your own), and display options (i'd like to be able to do a more traditional photoblog format, as i can on typepad). on typepad, i'd like to get some more of the flickr functionality, like auto-creating thumbnails for uploading moblog images.

Ok now I see what I did wrong. I didn't wait for the page to fully load. Nothing wrong with site, it was me. Jake your pictures are brilliant. The color is brilliant. I am wondering since you mentioned you use Photoshop to spiff them up, exactly what features do you use most when touching up your photos? Thanks, Jeannie

I worked in dumbo back in the 50s and i have been researching the area i had the warehouse at the foot of washington st under the bridge and been trying to find out what has become of that bldg.its a one story bldg and it was owned by the clinton corn prosseing company and there were large tanks in the basement full of corn syrup m.e.flemming trucking was also in the bldg.I watched the world trade center being built from the office.i have been trying to see pictures of this place and i have scanned thousands of pictures to find pictures of it
never found any .i think it is part of the fulton ferry park i left brooklyn in 1970 and have not had a chance to get back i now reside in florida.i used to have lunch on top of the clock tower bldg
and often thought what a great place to live the best skyline in the city. i always go through your site and i find your pictures spectacular a lot of people unless they grew up in brooklyn would understand grafitti as an art form.
