December 12, 2004: Hannukah 1

Last night was our annual Hannukah party. I think we packed a record number of people into our 450 sqft apartment- 50 or 60 must have come through in the course of the night. One great thing about living in New York all these years is that I've picked up a bunch of different sets of friends- Park Slope kids, Stuy kids, Columbia kids, NYU kids, bloggers, photobloggers, daft British ex-pats- they were all there last night. Jakeman, these are nice portraits. It's good to see you "shooting" people. I've found lately that I can't do it and I don't know why. Every time I click that shutter, the subject looks dessicated, fragile and not like the living person I saw through the viewfinder.
