January 31, 2005: Idiotarod 2

I'd like to see an anti-idiotarod where people have to go from Manhattan to Brooklyn, naked, in summer. That would be an entertaining shoot. Another thought: is it possible to take an original photograph at an event where photographers almost outnumber subjects?
I like the tone of the pictures. Must have been a really fun day.

challenging, but absolutely possible...
Nice pix.
That's me in the first picture, Mexican wrestling mask. Excellent shot. My website linked here has a few shots of the race if you'd like to check it out. Thanks!
Nice photos Jake. I like the one with the Manhattan skyline the most.
Some more pics here.
Ahhhh...Jake's back in NY...all better now.
Yes. A few years ago I was on one of the American Photo workshops where you have 100 people in the same spot taking photos. Three of the shots everyone would take, which were fine unless you had to look at all 1000 copies of the same image. Then you'd get 1,000 different shots, some of which you'd be surprised by, even though you were standing in the exact same spot when it as taken.
I love the last photo in this series. You were standing in the right spot, and waited to pull the trigger at the right time and got the photo you were looking for. His expression is fantastic.
