I don't often shoot in Brownstone Brooklyn, probably because I grew up there, and it just doesn't register visually for me. It's like if you grew up in a sausage factory- you probably wouldn't eat that much sausage- or something. I do wish there was a hardcore Park Slope or Carroll Gardens photoblogger- someone who was doing every street in those three or four neighborhoods. Anyone want to step up to the plate?

Funny you should mention that. Lex and I have been musing over a project about our two neighborhoods (Park Slope and Red Hook) with some in-depth photoblogging for each.

Love the sky in the first picture

tempting.... it's not as bad as my plan to do pixel drawings of every building on Prospect Park West.

Great series. I especially like the light on the third shot. Great exposure.

A Red Hook photoblog w/b very cool. Best collection of spooky buildings in the city.

PS: Great shots, Jake. I'm always partial to the close-to-home ones!

That would rock! You'd get lots o' links from us.

the sky in the first photo looks like really warm blanket i used to have. it's weird because, intended or not, these group of photos give a warm feeling as well. i dont know maybe it's the colors?

Hey.. Very interesting photos you have here. I was surfing for pics to work on a site project I'm currently doing for a Coney Island organization, and I was a bit startled by the clarity of your sytle to depict an almost wonder in every shot. Of course in this digital age one never knows if the pic was virgin or not. But nonetheless I am impressed by your love for this kind of experience, in fact reminds me of myself when I had more time-- time, hmm. Well, I just wanted to drop a line to you and say that I am interested in starting to take 'some pictures' to post like yourself. May I join you in your leisure of this kind? - V.L.
