Bluejake

Late last night a whole bunch of us went up to 3rd Avenue and 34th Street to wait for the Barnum & Bailey elephants to arrive in Manhattan. We were perfectly positioned- when they ran by, we were able to jump into the retinue of handlers, and follow the line all the way up to 7th avenue. As an animal lover, I am no fan of circuses- the elephants always seem a little sad and bewildered as the crowds swarm around them. Still, as a photographer, there is something undeniably interesting about these huge pachyderms running against the backdrop of the city streets.
