March 26, 2005: Daniel Buren at the Guggenheim

Even though the New York Times trashed the show as a "spectacular folly", Youngna and I decided to go up and check out the giant mirrored structure that Buren erected inside the museum. The first glimpse of the exhibit is fairly breathtaking- it really does look like a giant, modernist skyscraper has somehow landed inside the museum. The effect gets old pretty quick, though- we were in and out of the entire museum in thirty minutes. [Related: after I got home, I found some tiny reflections of the two of us in the background of some of my unused shots. Here are four, at nearly full size: 1, 2, 3, 4.]

Looks interesting.
It's silly, but the Green rectangles in picture # 2 made me first think of my TV's Volume control.
