April 23, 2005: Unfocused
As I mentioned on Thursday, I'm dealing with a fairly serious case of photography block this week. It will pass- the best thing is often to do nothing. Sometimes, however, I find it helps to return to basics- to go abstract and just think about color and form. That's what I was thinking last night- I was at a party, but my flash was on the fritz. I almost put the rig away, but then I decided to just disengage the autofocus, and grab some blur. When I told her what I was doing, Youngna asked me if I was drunk. [Unrelated: I've been a photoblogger for just about 3 years. That's like an MFA in blogging!]

yes- i was- janelle and i had three screwdrivers before the party! but i stand behind my approach.
Thanks for not giving up and not putting the camera away, I think you made the right decision.. I like the shots, the first and the last one especially.
