May 2, 2005: Botanic 1

Over the weekend, the Brooklyn Botanic Garden held their annual Cherry Blossom Festival. I went twice- once on a very rainy Saturday, and again on a beautiful Sunday. I preferred Saturday- no one was there and a very cool fog hung over everything. I was basically alone in the festival tent, which turned out to be a great place to pick up some authentic chicken teriyaki. [Related: seems like Youngna and Eliot also like cherry blossoms.]

Beautiful Collection!
that third photo is incredible, jake. also -- do you know what that second flower is? variation on a tulip?
i call it an oragami flower, b/c it looks like an oragami boat or swan thing.
The picture of the pink dogwood (3rd picture) is really very nice. Great and unexpected perspective -- from the underside, rather than from above as per usual.
Very nice and beautiful pics!
Really enjoyed them, almost smell the perfume!
