July 5, 2005: Absurdly High Speed Lomoized Fireworks

We went over to JCN's apartment for a balcony BBQ and fireworks party. The scene was a little too crowded to break out the 6' tripod I shoot with, and hand-held long exposures were way too blurry. Rather than give up, I decided to shoot these fast- at a 3200 ISO. Then, as a tribute to Jesse's experiments with weird film cameras, I applied a Lomo filter in Photoshop to each of the images. They still aren't that great- you can see the chip patterns in the black areas- but it's better than nothing. [Related: fireworks in 2004, 2003.]
