Bluejake

This is a bar in Long Island City. For reasons that are complex and obscure simple and obvious, I've stayed away from LIC, except for a twice-yearly visit to the graffiti spot Five Pointz. This month I've relaxed that policy a bit-- and I've undertaken a survey of the streets bounded by Queens Boulevard, Greenpoint Avenue, the East River, and Newtown Creek. LIC is also split roughly east and west by the LIRR railroad ditch-- most of these pictures are from the west side of the neighborhood, particularly on 10th and 11th Street and Vernon Boulevard.
