November 11, 2006: From the Roof of 11 Spring Street, Looking South

Marc and Sara from Wooster Collective are curating a huge streetart show at 11 Spring Street, a spooky building on the corner of Elizabeth. Artists from all over the world will be painting the exterior and interior of the empty warehouse for the next month. After that, there will be a public showing, and then the entire building will be completely buffed. As a streetart enthusiast, this kind of thing is totally my bag, baby-- so I'll be spending as much time there as they let me. They've asked me to keep a lid on the interior graffiti pictures so as not to ruin the surprise for the people who come to the show-- but they've generously allowed me to put up some architectural shots of the interior, exterior, and roof, sans decoration. Those will go up on Monday-- probably on Gothamist. The shot above is a failed pano taken from the southeast corner of the roof.
Janelle reminded me that one of my Bushwick pix is on the cover of The L Magazine this week-- you can find them at those orange newsbins all over town. Thanks, L!
