April 14, 2007: What Remains

What Remains

I was biking around Williamsburg, Greenpoint, and Bushwick today, and I was struck by the sheer volume of development going on. Skyscrapers and luxury condos are springing up everywhere-- some just about finished, some barely started, and some, like this lot on Roebling, that haven't even begun yet. I was thinking about all of that, biking up one of the streets in Bushwick, and noticed someone had stenciled "You are Not Your Neighborhood" on one of the walls. It struck a chord in me-- who's going to live in these places in ten years?

Wow, yes I've become awe struck myself to say how much development is taking place in Brooklyn. I was there last night at the famous The Sea Bistro.
