September 7, 2007: Zion is Our Milk

There's something very powerful and brutal about this piece of political graffiti-- one of many that I saw on the streets of Tel Aviv. If you're interested in seeing more, I'll be posting a whole set over at Streetsy this week. I was surprised by the sheer volume of Israeli streetart, but thinking about it, it makes a lot of sense. Israel is a vibrant democracy, dealing with a host of political, social, and moral issues. And Tel Aviv is an artistic city with many galleries and working artists-- so it's natural they'd take some of those issues and deal with them on the street.
