October 23, 2007: Save Domino
Since we last visited the Domino Sugar Refinery, a lot has happened. Thanks to the work of dedicated preservationists, like the ones who live in this building on Wythe in Williamsburg, the main building in the complex was landmarked, and it seems like it will probably be saved. The outlying buildings, however, probably won't be so lucky-- the plans I've seen are calling for them to be replaced with a bunch of glass towers. Doesn't anyone build with brick anymore?
